Pues nada, puestos a ripear listas, vamos a hacerlo a lo grande. Iré poniendo el polémico (como no) listado aparecido este grueso volumen y confecciónado por votación de «la crème de la crème» de la crítica musical (horror) anglosajona. Cada post cubrirá un año de lista, eso si, completaré solo el intervalo 1990-2005, época que seguramente la mayoría de los que frecuentamos este espacio hemos vivido, porque si no, ésto puede hacerse eterno y aburrido. Pongámonos en situación: Comenzaba el año 2000, la consola más moderna del momento era la Dreamcast de Sega, seguida por la Nintendo 64. Sony aguantaba el tipo con la vieja Playstation mientras ultimaba los detalles del lanzamiento de la PS2. El mundo del PC estaba revolucionado con la eclosión de las tarjetas gráficas aceleradoras 3D; aún no estaba definido un estandar y no todos los juegos funcionaban con cualquier placa.


En este ambiente "mileniarista", EDGE Magazine, una de las primeras revistas que reivindicaron el videojuego como arte, saca una lista con los 100 mejores juegos salidos hasta el momento según sus colaboradores. Yo se la ofrezco en dos partes, que de una atacada se me hace mucho escribir. Entre paréntesis incluyo información del juego en el siguiente formato: (Plataforma, Desarrollador – Distribuidor, año de lanzamiento). También dejo mi opinión acerca de los (pocos) juegos que conozco con el siguiente código:
